Abstract
This work is focused on the inverse identification of constitutive law parameters from machining test. A hybrid methodology based on both finite element and nonparametric techniques has been developed. Finite element model was validated and numerical results were used as training data for two different non-parametric models: a Radial Basis Function Network (RBFN) and a Local Polynomial Regression (LPR). These non-parametric models, once trained and validated, were applied to identify the constitutive material model parameters for a new dataset.
