Abstract
A correction method for using X-cut quartz transducers in SHPB was proposed. We analyzed the error factors from the piezoelectric equation. Using numerical simulation results, we found the major error. A simple expression was built, and a set of copper standard samples was tested for calibrating the influence coefficient. The influence coefficient was validated in Al tests. With the correction method, a kind of low density polyurethane foam was investigated by SHPB using the quartz transducer. Experimental results showed that the error correction made the X-cut quartz transducer use in SHPB more convenient and valid.
