Abstract
Based on the theory of pressure-shear gas gun, a new split Hopkinson pressure-shear bars (SHPSB) is developed in the paper through changing the shape of the incident bar's end. The end surface of incident bar is improved to in shape of cut-cone. By using the set, the constitutive behavior of specimens loaded by combined compression-shear loading can be gained. A series of formulations for calculating compression-shear stress and strain have been deduced by a detailed theoretic analysis. Some primary experiments have been tested by the new developed SHPSB sets, and the experimental results are listed in the paper.
