Abstract
The dynamic behaviour of a low alloy structural steel has been investigated under different experimental conditions in a strain rate range from 102 s−1 to 5.106 s−1. Taylor tests, hat-shape tests and dynamic tensile tests have been simulated and compared to experiments presented in a companion paper. Simulations have been performed with two constitutive models and two non-linear dynamic codes LS-DYNA™ and AUTODYN™. Results show discrepancies between the two codes and two models which emphasis the need of validation of constitutive models before simulations of industrial applications.
