Abstract
Using SHPB and punch experimental techniques, we investigated the dynamic compressive and shear responses of PTFE/Al reactive materials. There were two PTFE/Al for the experiments, PA265 and PA35, in which the proportions of Al powder were 26.5% and 35% respectively. The SHPB experimental results show that two kinds of PTFE/Al are sensitive to strain-rates. At strain rate 1000 s−1 ~ 8000 s−1, the yield stress of PA265 is 32 ~ 44 MPa, and 44 ~ 55 MPa for PA35. The critical reaction stress is 157 MPa for PA265 and 163 MPa for PA35. The dynamic punch experimental results show that samples undergo not only shearing deformation, but also tension deformation, which is consistent with the shear stress-strain curve. The dynamic shear strength of PA265 is a little less than that of PA35.
