Abstract
To understand the quasi-static and dynamic compressive mechanical properties of a kind of three dimension braided carbon/epoxy composite, numbers of quasi-static and dynamic compression experiments were conducted, by means of WDS-100 universal material testing machine and SHPB technology respectively. The compressive stress-strain curves and compressive strength were achieved in a large strain rate range (from strain rate 0 to about 2400 s−1). The fractured failure modes of carbon/epoxy composite are also photographed. The experimental results show that the dynamic performance of this composite and the strain rate effect are matrix-dominated; the carbon fiber and its initial waviness master the mechanical property. The energy absorption characteristics of round tube made of composite material is also studied based on drop-hammer test and compared with that of steel tube.

- If your librarian has set up your subscription with an OpenURL resolver, OpenURL links appear automatically on the abstract pages.
- You can define your own OpenURL resolver with your EDPS Account. In this case your choice will be given priority over that of your library.
- You can use an add-on for your browser (Firefox or I.E.) to display OpenURL links on a page (see http://www.openly.com/openurlref/). You should disable this module if you wish to use the OpenURL server that you or your library have defined.
